Kids Opera Adventure: Discover Tosca!

Thinking of joining the festival but wondering what to do with the kids? Bring them along! Our festival warmly welcomes children aged 8 and up to discover the magic of music, storytelling, and opera — all in an inspiring and age-friendly way.

Sunday Afternoon – “Discover Opera & Tosca”

Led by pianist and storyteller Pavel Timofeyevsky together with one of our singers, this playful and engaging session introduces young guests to the world of opera. Pavel has a unique gift for bringing musical history to life, and with the singers’ help he’ll show why opera is such a powerful way of telling stories.

Children will explore:

• What opera is and how it works

• Why Puccini’s music is so dramatic and moving

• The characters of Tosca — presented in a way that focuses on emotions, courage, and heroism

• Fun listening challenges to spot during the performance

This interactive introduction sets the stage for the afternoon’s one-hour performance of Tosca, helping children follow the story and feel part of the experience.

Flexible Options for Families

After the talk, children can choose between:

• Staying for the immersive performance of Tosca with their parents (seated near the exit so they can quietly slip out if needed).

• Or joining the “Opera Club” in the villa’s private cinema, where they’ll enjoy a cultural film screening (such as Fantasia) along with fun creative activities like trying on costume pieces, sketching opera scenes, or designing their own posters.

This way, children can begin their journey into opera without pressure — and families can relax, knowing both adults and kids will have a rewarding experience.
